THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES :
Benzodiazepine derivatives (Central nervous system anxiolytics).
INDICATIONS :
- Symptomatic treatment of severe and/or disabling anxiety symptoms.
- Prevention and treatment of delirium tremens and other alcohol withdrawal symptoms
CONTRAINDICATIONS :
- Severe respiratory failure.
- Sleep apnea syndrome.
- Severe hepatic insufficiency, acute or chronic (risk of developing encephalopathy).
- Myasthenia

WARNING AND PRECAUTION :
- Great caution is recommended in individuals with a history of alcoholism or other dependencies, whether drug-related or not (see Interactions).
- Warn drivers and operators of machinery of the potential risk of drowsiness.
SIDE EFFECTS :
Neuropsychiatric:
- Anterograde amnesia, behavioral disturbances, changes in consciousness, irritability, aggressiveness, agitation, physical and psychological dependence, feelings of drunkenness, headaches, ataxia, confusion, reduced alertness or even drowsiness (particularly in the elderly), insomnia and nightmares.
Dermatological:
- Skin rashes, pruritic or not.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION :
- Reserved for adults:
In adults, at the start of treatment, the average daily dosage of bromazepam is 6 mg per day, usually divided as follows:
¼ tablet in the morning (1.5 mg)
• ¼ tablet at noon (1.5 mg)
• ½ tablet in the evening (3 mg) - Elderly patients and those with renal or hepatic insufficiency: It is recommended to reduce the dosage by half, for example.
- Duration of treatment: Treatment should be as brief as possible. The total duration of treatment should not exceed 8 to 12 weeks.
