THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES
Antibiotic of the tetracycline class.
INDICATIONS
Indicated for the following conditions:
- Respiratory diseases
- Genito-urinary diseases
- Specific indication: Acne
CONTRAINDICATIONS
This medication should not be used in the following cases:
- Allergy to antibiotics of the tetracycline family.
- The use of this medication should be avoided in children under 8 years of age due to the risk of permanent tooth discoloration and enamel hypoplasia.
- Pregnancy And Breastfeeding: There is a risk of abnormalities in the dental bud or dental discoloration in the child.
IN CASE OF DOUBT, IT IS ESSENTIAL TO CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR IMMIDIATELY IN CASE OF AN OVERDOSE.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
- In cases of liver or kidney insufficiency.
- An overdose may pose a risk of hepatotoxicity.
- Due to the risk of photosensitization, it is advised to avoid direct exposure to the sun and UV rays during treatment (skin reactions such as erythema).
ADVERSE EFFECTS
- Dental discoloration or enamel hypoplasia in children under 8 years of age.
- Digestive disorders: diarrhea, nausea, epigastric pain.
- Allergic reactions: urticaria, rash, pruritus.
- Photosensitivity reactions.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Oral use.
Adults: The usual dosage is 1.5 to 2 g per day, taken outside of meals, in 2 to 4 evenly spaced doses.
For acne treatment: progressively decreasing the dosage from 750 mg to 1 g/day until 250mg/day.
Children over 8 years of age: 50 mg/kg/24 hours, in 2 to 4 doses.
STORAGE
- Store at a temperature below 30°C, away from light and moisture.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not use after the expiration date on the box.
