COMPOSITION :
Each tablet contains:
– Pyrantel pamoate equivalent to pyrantel base……………………..: 125 mg
– Excipients : qs……………………………………………………………..: one tablet
THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES
Antihelminthic (P: Parasitology).
INDICATIONS :
-Ascariasis.
-Enterobiasis (pinworm infection).
-Hookworm infection.
CONTRAINDICATIONS :
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
IN CASE OF DOUBT, IT IS ESSENTIAL TO CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST.
WARNING AND PRECAUTION :
-In case of hepatic insufficiency, reduce the dose.
-Enterobiasis: To prevent reinfestation, strict hygiene is necessary: daily cleaning of the perianal
area, frequent nail brushing throughout the day. In children, cut nails very short. Regularly
change underwear and nightwear. Prevent the person from scratching. Treat all family members
at the same time, as infestation is often asymptomatic.
SIDE EFFECTS :
-Rarely: Gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting, anorexia, diarrhea, abdominal pain).
-Exceptionally: Headaches, dizziness, fatigue, sleep disturbances, skin rash.
DOSAGE :
Oral route.
Tablet: Reserved for adults and children over 6 years old.
Ascariasis, Enterobiasis:
The usual dosage is 10 mg/kg to 12 mg/kg in a single dose for both adults and children, as follows:
-Child: approximately 1 tablet.
-Adult under 75 kg: approximately 6 tablets.
-Adult over 75 kg: approximately 8 tablets.
Hookworm infection:
In endemic areas, in cases of infestation by Necator americanus or severe infestation by Ankylostoma
duodenale, the dosage is 20 mg/kg (in 1 or 2 doses), to be repeated for 2 to 3 days, as follows:
-Child: 2 tablets per 10 kg body weight.
-Adult under 75 kg: 12 tablets.
-Adult over 75 kg: 16 tablets.
In cases of mild Ankylostoma duodenale infestation (which is usually the case outside endemic areas),
a single dose of 10 mg/kg may be sufficient for both adults and children.
CONSERVATION :
-Store at a temperature below 30°C, away from light and humidity..
-Keep out of reach and sight of children.
-Do not use after the expiration date on the package.
