THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES
Anti-acne: macrolide

Antibiotic: macrolide / Infectiology Parasitology

INDICATIONS

Indicated for the following conditions:

• Tonsillitis as an alternative to beta-lactam treatment
• Acute sinusitis
• Superinfections of acute bronchitis
• Mild to moderate inflammatory acne
• Mild skin infections: impetigo, acne
• Stomatological infections
• Non-gonococcal genital infections

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Absolute:

• Hypersensitivity to macrolides

PRECAUTIONS  

• Newborns under 1 month of age
• The widespread use of erythromycin during pregnancy has not shown any teratogenic or foetotoxic effects; however, breastfeeding should be avoided during treatment.

SIDE EFFECTS

• Nausea, vomiting
• Epigastric pain
• Diarrhea

DOSAGE AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRAION

Oral administration; taking before meals ensures optimal serum levels.
Adults: 2 to 3 g per day, in 4 to 5 doses.
Children: 30 to 50 mg/kg per day.
Acne: 1 g per day, in 2 to 3 doses for at least 3 days.

STORAGE

• Store in a dry place, away from light and humidity.
• Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
• Do not use after the expiration date on the package.
