COMPOSITION
Each 5mL contains :
Metronidazole benzoate equivalent to Metronidazole………………200mg
Excipients q.s. ………………………………………………………………………..5mL
PROPERTIES THERAPEUTIC :
Metronidazole is a anti-infection of family of nitro-5 imidazole.
INDICATIONS
It is limit of infection because of efficacy as sensible germs :
– Amoebiasis
– Urogenital trichomoniasis
– Non-specific vaginitis
– Lambliases
– Curative treatment of medicosurigical infections with sensitive anaerobic germs.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Absolutes :
– Hyper sensible to imidazole.
Relative :
– Breastfeeding
– Disulfurame , Alcohol : interactions
IN CASE DOUBT, IT IS NECESSARY TO DEMAND TO YOUR DOCTOR OR YOUR PHARMACIST.
PRECAUTION AND WARNING :
– Stop using in case : ataxia, dizzy, mental confusion
– Avoid alcohol drinks.
– Metronidazole can be prescribed during pregnancy, if needed.
SIDE EFFECTS
– metallic taste in mouth, anorexia, epigastric camps, vomit, diarrhea
– Urticaria, pruritus, glossitis with sensation of dry mouth.
– Headache, dizzy, mental confusion, convulsion.
DOSAGE
Amibiasis
– Adult : 1.5g per day, divided in 3 times.
– Enfant : 30mg to 40 mg/kg/day, divided in 3 times.
Trichomoniasis
– Female : (Urethritis and vaginitis cause by Trichomoniasis) : Tablet of 250mg : we recommend to use mix treatment for 10 days by : 500 mg per day Oral Route (divide in 2 times) and 1 ovule per day by Vaginal Route.
– Male : (Urethritis cause by Trichomoniasis) : 500mg per day for 10 days by division in 2 times.
Lambliase
– Adult : 750 mg – 1000mg per day for 5 days
– Enfant : 2 – 5 Years Old : 250mg/day
5 – 10 Years Old : 375mg/day
10 – 15 Years Old : 500 mg/day
Non Specific Vaginitis
– 500mg, 2 times per day for 7 days.
For infection of anaerobia germs treatment:
– Adult : 1 – 1.5g / day
– Enfant : 20 – 30mg/kg/day.
STORAGE CONDITION
- Store below 30oC, avoid light and humidity
- Keep out of reach and sight of children
- Do not use after expiry date.
