COMPOSITION :
Each Film Coated Tablet contains :

THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES :
It is Macrolide antibiotic and Systemic Antibacterials.
INDICATIONS :
For treatment some of infections such as :
– Acute sinus and ear infections
– Throat and tonsil infection
– Infection of acute bronchitis.
– Exacerbations of chronic bronchitis.
– Stomatological infections.
– Pelvic inflammatory disease
– Genital disease and infections
– Infection of the skin
CONTRAINDICATION:
– Hypersensitivity to azithromycin.
– Rye ergot alkaloids (dihydroergotamine, ergotamine), cisapride.
– Severe hepatic failure.

PRECAUTION AND WARNING :
- Pneumonia : oral treatment is for mild, community-acquired cases suitable for outpatient therapy only. Discontinue if signs/symptoms of hepatitis occur. Know QT prolongation, proarrhythmic condition, clinically significant bradycardia avoid. Allergic symptoms may recur after initial successful symptomatic treatment. Myasthenia gravis. Hepatic or renal impairment. Elderly.
SIDE EFFECTS:
- Diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, rash, hepatotoxicity, hypersensitivity reactions (eg, angioedema, Stevens-Jonhson syndrome, toxic epidermal etc.)
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Oral route :
Adult :
- Take 500 mg per day , for 3 days.
- For Infection of acute bronchitis : First day take 500mg per day, Second day to Fifth day take 250mg per day. Limit for 5 days.
- Azithromycin should be given as a single daily dose and taken with food.
