BUTYLPAN 

COMPOSITION

Each sugar coated tablet contains :

  • Hyoscine butylbromide………………………………………………………….10 mg
  • Excipients : q.s. ………………………………………………One sugar coated tablet

THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES:

  • Antispasmodic with atropine-like properties.

INDICATION :

  • Proposed as a treatment for spasmodic and/or painful manifestations: in gastroenterology, biliary tract diseases, in urology, in gynecology, in obstetrics, and in radiology.

CONTRAINDICATION:

  • Risk of urinary retention due to urethro-prostatic disorders.
  • Risk of glaucoma due to angle closure

IN CASE OF DOUBT, IT IS NECESSARY TO ASK

FOR THE ADVICE OF YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST.

WARNING AND PRECAUTION:

  • Prostatic hypertrophy,
  • Hepatic or renal insufficiency,
  • Chronic bronchitis due to increased viscosity of bronchial secretions,
  • In pregnant women: administration should be cautious towards the end of pregnancy due to the risk of atropine-like effects in the infant (meconium ileus),
  • In breastfeeding women: should be avoided; due to passage into breast milk, atropine-like effects may occur in the infant at therapeutic doses.

SIDE EFFECTS:

  • Thickening of bronchial secretions.
  • Accommodation disturbances.
  • Tachycardia, palpitations.
  • Urinary retention.
  • Irritability and confusion in elderly individuals

DOSAGE:

Oral route

Adults

  • For maintenance treatment:
    1 or 2 sugar coated tablets, two or three times a day.

Children:

  • Ages 5 to 15 years old : 1 or 2 sugar coated tablets per day.

CONSERVATION:

  • Store below 30oC, avoid light and humidity
  • Keep out of reach and sight of children.
  • Do not use after expiry date.
