THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES
Antibiotic from the β-lactam class, belonging to the penicillin group, specifically a type A aminopenicillin.
INDICATIONS
Indicated for the treatment of the following infections:
- Respiratory tract infections
- ENT (ear, nose, throat) and dental infections
- Renal and urogenital infections
- Gynecological infections
- Gastrointestinal and biliary infections
- Meningeal infections
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Known hypersensitivity to penicillins

PRECAUTION
- Be aware of the potential for cross-allergy with other β-lactam antibiotics, especially cephalosporins.
- Caution when used in combination with allopurinol (increased risk of skin reactions).
- In patients with renal impairment, dosage should be adjusted according to creatinine clearance or serum creatinine levels.
SIDE EFFECTS
As with all penicillins:
- Allergic reactions: including urticaria, eosinophilia, angioedema (Quincke’s edema), respiratory difficulty, and in rare cases, anaphylactic shock.
- Maculopapular skin rashes, which may be allergic or non-allergic in origin.
- Gastrointestinal disturbances: such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and oral/vaginal candidiasis.
DOSAGE AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Oral route
This product is intended for use in infants and children only.
Should be taken 30 minutes before meals.
Preparation of the oral suspension:
Reconstitute by adding water up to the marked line to obtain a total volume of 60 ml. Shake well before each use.
Dosage:
- Children: 50 mg/kg/day, equivalent to 2 measuring spoons (each 125 mg) 4 times daily
- Infants: 50 mg/kg/day, equivalent to 1 measuring spoon (125 mg) 4 times daily
