COMPOSITION

Each tablet contains :

– Spironolactone……………………………50 mg

– Excipients : q.s……………………..…One tablet

THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES

Potassium-sparing diuretic.

Acts on the cardiovascular system.

INDICATIONS

This medication is a diuretic.

It is indicated for:

• The treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension),
• The treatment of edema, as well as other medical conditions.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

This medication MUST NOT BE USED in the following cases:

• Kidney failure,
• Severe liver failure,
• Hyperkalemia (excess potassium in the blood),
• Allergy to spironolactone,
• Combination with other potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements (except in case of hypokalemia-low potassium levels).

This medication is generally not recommended for certain patients with cirrhosis (liver disease).

WARINING

Monitoring of certain blood tests-particularly potassium (kalmia), sodium (natremia), and kidney function-is essential, especially in at-risk patients. Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are over 70 years old, have or have had diabetes, kidney disease, or if you are taking medications that may increase potassium levels.

SIDE EFFECTS

Like all medicines, this product may cause side effects in some people, which may vary in severity:

• breast tenderness,
• menstrual irregularities,
• impotence,
• drowsiness,
• skin rash,
• digestive issues,
• cramps in the lower limbs,
• possible increase in potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia).

DOSAGE AND ADMINITRATION

In general, 1 to 2 tablets per day. However, in some cases, this dosage maybe increased to up to 4 tablets per day.

STORAGE:

– Storage away from light and moisture.

– Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

– Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the label
