COMPOSITION

Each tablet contains

– Spironolactone………………………..25 mg

– Excipients : q.s. ………………………..One tablet

THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES

Potassium-sparing diuretic.

Acts on the cardiovascular system.

INDICATIONS

This medicine is indicated for :

• The treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension)
• The treatment of edema, as well as other medical conditions

CONTRAINDICATION

This medicine MUST NOT BE USED in the following cases:

• Kidney failure ,
• Severe liver failure,
• Hyperkalemia (excess potassium in the blood),
• Allergy to spironolactone,
• In combination with other potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements (except in cases of hypokalemia-low potassium levels).

This medication is generally not recommended for certain patients with cirrhosis (liver disease).

WARNINGS

Regular monitoring of blood tests is essential, particularly potassium and sodium levels, as well as kidney function, especially in at-risk patients.

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are over 70 years old, have or have had diabetes, kidney disease, or if you taking medications that can increase potassium levels.

SIDE EFFECT

Like all medicines, this product may cause more or less troublesome side effect in some people :

• Breast tenderness,
• Menstrual irregularities,
• impotence,
• drowsiness,
• skin rash,
• digestive disorders ,
• leg cramps,
• possible increase in blood potassium levels (hyperkalemia).

DOSAGE AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION

• Children : 1 to 4 mg/kg/day in 1 to 2 doses
• Adults : 50 to 100 mg/day in a single dose

STORAGE :

– Store away from light and moisture

– Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

– Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the label.
