THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES

Topical antibiotic therapy

Broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic
Antifungal and antibacterial activity, leading to complete lysis of fungal cells
Exhibits vasoconstrictive properties and inhibits cellular proliferation and synthetic processes in both the dermis and epidermis

INDICATIONS

Bétrimazole cream is indicated in the treatment of the following conditions:

Staphylococcal infections (boils, superficial pustules, whitlow)
Candidiasis of skin folds (genitocrural, anal, or perianal intertrigo)
Interdigital candidiasis
Angular cheilitis
Vulvitis and balanitis
Candidal superinfection of dermatoses
Toe web intertrigo (athlete’s foot)
Tinea infections
Erythrasma

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients (including cross-sensitivities within the same group)

PRECAUTIONS

In cases of candidiasis: it is advised not to use acidic pH soaps, as an acidic environment favors Candida proliferation
If local intolerance occurs, the treatment should be discontinued and the cause investigated

SIDE EFFECTS

Local reactions may occur, such as skin dryness, pruritus, local irritation, or burning sensation shortly after application—these symptoms generally resolve even if treatment is continued.
On the face, corticosteroids may cause perioral dermatitis, or induce or worsen rosacea.

DOSAGE AND METHOS OF ADMNINISTRATION

Apply locally twice daily, in the morning and evening, after cleansing and drying the affected area
Gently massage until the cream is fully absorbed
The average duration of treatment is one week
