THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES
Antifungal/ Antifungal antibiotic
INDICATIONS
- Cutaneous dermatophyte infections: ringworm, Habra’s marginal eczema, and mycotic intertrigo.
- Nail dermatophyte infections.
- Hair dermatophyte infections: scalp ringworm
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Allergy to griseofulvin.
- Systemic lupus erythematosus and related syndromes.

WARNING AND PRECAUTION
- Monitor the blood count during long-term treatment (lasting more than one month) and at high doses (> 1.5 g per day).
- Increase monitoring in cases of liver insufficiency.
- Avoid sun exposure during and immediately after treatment.
- Drug interactions: Alcohol and medications containing it; estrogen-progestogen contraceptives (oral contraceptives).
SIDE EFFECTS
- Neurological manifestations: Primarily headaches, less commonly dizziness, insomnia, and drowsiness.
- Gastrointestinal disorders: Anorexia, nausea, changes in taste, and a sensation of thirst.
- Allergic skin reactions and photosensitivity.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Adults: The usual dosage is 500 mg to 1 g per day, taken in 2 doses during meals.
Children: 10 mg to 20 mg/kg per day.
The tablets should be swallowed with a large glass of water.
The duration of treatment depends on the location:
- For the skin: 4 to 8 weeks.
- For the scalp and ringworm: 6 to 8 weeks.
- For nail mycoses: 4 to 12 weeks.
STORAGE
- Store at a temperature below 30°C, protected from light and moisture.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not use after the expiration date shown on the box
